                                                               A Celebration of Life

                                                               (Brother C. J.  Jackson)

C.J. Jackson was born on December 8, 1938, in Holly Grove, Arkansas to Cliff and Chaniee Jackson. He was educated in the public schools of Holly Grove, Arkansas. After his educational endeavors, he became a farmer. Shortly after, he was promoted to a supervisor.

He married his loving and caring wife Theresa Hurd on April 2, 1972.  Together, they became the owners of The Delta Service Station. After retiring from that business, he embarked on another small business of lawn care, where he served several local clients.

He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at an early age.  He was a member of The First Missionary Baptist Church in Holly Grove under the pastoral care of Rev. Hall, Rev. Abram, and at present, Reverend Ronald Laurent.  He was a member of the Holly Grove Male Chorus.  C. J. loved The Lord Jesus and shared the goodness of God with anyone who would listen.  He echoed “God is good”, even with his nurses and doctors when he was in the hospital.

After his assignment was completed on this Earth, he was joyously received by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents Cliff and Chaniee Jackson, one son Harold Jackson, one daughter Carolyn Sturghill, one sister Bernice Roberts, and three brothers Williams T. Jackson, Robert Jackson, and Nathaniel Jackson.

C. J. leaves to cherish his memories:  His wife Theresa Jackson; three daughters: Joan (Cedric) Swift of Sherwood, AR; Beverly (James) Phillips of Chicago, IL;  Glenda (Alvin) Maddox of Abilene, TX; one son Calvin Jackson of Kansas City MO;. He raised four more daughters: Delores Thrower, Ruby (George) Cunningham of Little Rock, AR; Joyce (Ronnie) Robinson of Chicago, IL; two sisters: Clara Mae Wiley of Pine Bluff, AR and Irene Hampton of Holly Grove, AR, one brother, Curtis C. (Sarah) Jackson of Kansas City, MO; 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. He shared a unique bond with one special grandson Dramelle Jackson.
